主要针对昆虫微孢子虫、人兽共患微孢子虫及其宿主(蚕、蜂、小鼠等),开展基因组与生物信息学、病原侵染机制、宿主应答机制、流行病学、检测防治等研究。具体主要包括:
1. 微孢子虫感染与防控研究
筛选鉴定微孢子虫侵染致病关键因子和宿主应答关键因子,解析病原垂直传播的过程与分子机制,及其对宿主免疫、代谢和发育等重要通路的调控作用和机理,以及宿主免疫等系统应答感染的机制,并基于发现的重要靶标开展抗性育种和检测防控研究。
2. 基因组学与生物信息学研究
(1)开展病原微生物及宿主的基因组、转录组、蛋白质组、宏基因组等组学测序分析,解析病原流行特征与规律、侵染机制、宿主应答机制等重要问题,并为检测防控研究提供候选靶标。
(2)开发生物大数据与数据库平台 (BioDB Platform, https://biodb.org),研发生物信息分析方法和工具,构建生物信息数据库:qPrimerDB (Quantitative PCR Primer Database), MicroEpiDB (Microsporidia Epidemiology Database), MorusDB (Mulberry genome database), BrassicaEDB (Brassica Gene Expression Database), ... ...

◎ 在PLoS Pathogens、Nucleic Acids Research、Parasites & Vectors、BMC Genomics等国内外期刊发表研究论文80余篇,参编专著和译著3部;开展了微孢子虫基因组、转录组、代谢组和蛋白质组等多组学测序与大数据分析,解析了微孢子虫经卵垂直传播、抑制宿主细胞凋亡、调控宿主线粒体片段化和相关重要通路的分子机制,搭建了生物大数据与数据库平台(BioDB Platform, https://biodb.org),构建了代表性物种qPCR引物数据库(qPrimerDB)、微孢子虫流行病学数据库(MicroEpiDB)、家蚕病原数据库(SilkPathDB)、家蚕细胞器蛋白质组数据库(SilkOrganPDB)、桑树基因组数据库(MorusDB)和多杀性巴氏杆菌基因组数据库(PamulDB)等多个数据库;获得2017年度教育部高等学校科学研究优秀成果奖自然科学二等奖 (第三完成人)。
