1. 基因组和比较基因组学（基因组组装、重测序、进化、结构变异、全基因组关联分析等）；

2. 转座子（转座子在植物基因组中的作用研究）；

3. 生物信息学（数据库及生信工具）。

学术贡献

在桑树基因组学的研究中做出突出贡献，先后组装桑树Draft-level、染色体水平及T2T水平参考基因组，搭建桑树转座子数据库（MnTEdb）、桑树天然产物数据库（MMHub）、桑树基因组大小、染色体数目及倍性数据库（MGCPdb）等多个数据库。研究工作推动桑树生物学研究的飞速发展。
